Where: Chicago
When: March 2011
Sorry for the spotty posting these days, I can't seem to get organized these days. And I won't be posting anything at all for a few weeks, but on the plus side, that's because we'll be in Europe, which means I'll have LOTS to post when I get back!

These are blueberries
Where: NY Botanical Gardens
When: February 2011
We got to walk around the NY Botanical Gardens greenhouse with a friend of ours who also happens to work there, and is an expert on blueberries. An astonishing number of the plants in the conservatory are actually species of blueberries. This variety is the result of a cutting taken from a plant in its native habitat - as far as they know, that plant, and this clone of that plant, are the only two in existence. They never found another plant in the area they found the first one in. Weird.
